hi my car has been runnning very rich and it has been hesitatin at 3-4ooo rpms even at idle it hesitates i have changed my plugs, wires and cap and rotors and and its still does the same thang but the i still have the orignal distributor on the h22a jdm motor but the distributor has 230,000 miles its a h23a distributor the check engine light only comes on some times though not every time i drive so i dont know what to do please help

 

Pull the code... The ECU stores every cel that goes off, untill the ECU is reset.. That should point you in the right direction.

 

yeah but the check engine rarely ever comes on though and it still hesitates and runs very run no power at high rpms

 

The CEL should never come on..So you got a problem somewhere.

 

yeah the cel comes on because the egr is blocked valve off but that is not why the car hesitate so please let me know thanks

 

I would take a look at the ICM, or ignitor. Make sure all the connectors are tight on it.. Is the car missing when you rev or drive?

 

This is the same problem we had on the gumball.
Does it take off kinda slow and slowly start to build up?
Does Vtec engage at the correct time, or does it seem to be a little late like at 5200 or higher?

If it is, your auto tensioner is failing. Todd and I figured that is the only reason that the car was retarding itself while we were driving to and from California.

EDIT: and yes, we were running really rich.
