I was wondering what the oil pressure should be at idle for a GSR motor. I'm running a tee off of the back of the block with a turbo oil feed line and the electronic oil pressure gauge. At idle I'm getting about 13psi. Does this sound fine or should it be higher?

 

At idle, mine reads 25 PSI when oil is at about 160 deg. and 10-15 when oil is at 200-210 deg.

 

When I first start the car and let it warm up, I get about 25 psi as well. After I come home from a long ride and I let the turbo timer count down, this is when I usually see the 13psi at idle. I was concerned about that and I didn't really think about the temp. of the oil and how it affected the oil pressure. Thanks for clearing that up and I appreciate your help. Thanks.

 

I BELIEVE 20 at idle and 60 psi over 3000 rpm.

 

that's normal. do you have an oil temp gauge ? When oil gets hotter pressure goes down.

 

Yeah, unfortunately I only have the oil pressure gauge and not the oil temp gauge.
