Default Can my shift linkage make tranny grind?

What would go wrong with the shift linkage to make a tranny grind if it can, or effect shifting in any way....

If it was bent or not installed correctly it will be harder to put in gear and something it will grind, happend to me but fixed it easy.

this was happening to me ever since i got my swap. turned out the back end of the shift linkage was never installed right...it was missing the letal piece that held the bushing down.

sorry for the quality i took it with a palm. shifts like a dream now...used to grind in reverse.

ever since my swap, my tranny grinds when i put it in reverse too, BUT the only way it wont grind in reverse is if i put it in 4th and then reverse, then it wont grind, can somebody tell me WHY this is happening???

Sounds like your clutch is dragging just a little bit. Reverse doesn't have a synchro, so it grinds. Forward gears just resist a bit when you engage them. If your clutch were dragging badly, the synchros would block you out of the forward gears; just like they would if you didn't have the clutch pedal pressed in...
