Default What controlls timming on a 93 accord lx

What sensors control the timing on my car? Im having a problem with timing being ripped out when under boost. Or at least it feels like its timing cause as soon as I put the pedal to the floor, it almost feels like im putting the brake on and immediately stops accelerating. Any suggestions?

not positive if its detonating or not and no, they dont have knock sensors. but i do know that there is a temp sensor in the intake manifold and i have already ruled that out. the weird thing about the whole deal is that it doesnt do it all the time. for example, i will get on it and it will run perfect, and then some time later it will screw up like i described above, and vise-versa.
