Brake light stays lit ----- problems?
Is there a sensor for this? I assume there is....so perhaps, something wrong with my sensor? or does it stay lit to warn of a problem with my braking system? My car has about 56k miles on it and it hasn't had any brake work done to it.
btw, the brake light stays lit whenever the car is cold or whenever it has been raining outside, and usually goes away when the car has been warmed up. I don't know why that would make the light go away, but it does. Also, there are no funny smells so I know the e-brake is not grinding.
I think it all started when I jacked my car up to change my own oil several months ago. I believe I jacked up the car properly and disengaged the e-brake after when I was done.
any ideas?

is it the 'BRAKE' light or is it the 'ABS' light? there IS a large difference.
if it's the 'brake' light, then you just need to take the center console out and check to see what is wrong with the switch under the ebrake handle.
if it's the 'abs' light, you may have a problem. i'd check your brake fluid for sure. maybe check your pads too, but i don't know if the brakes are that sophisticated. good luck fixing it man.

I checked my brake fluid and it's at the middle point. Do I need to fill it to the max?
I couldn't find the ABS resevoir. Can someone point it for me?
Also, when I installed my neuspeed front strut bar, I had to remove this bracket with a thick black hose attached. I don't know what this black hose is called, but it is also slightly rubbing against the engine. The bar won't fit if I put the bracket where it is supposed to be. Any suggestions?
One more question...are my brake pads supposed to squeal or grind when they need replacement? Like I said, I haven't had any brake job done to my car and it has 56k miles on it and I do a lot of normal to moderate braking since I live around hills.
