Default 2nd gear shift

Is it just my teg or when going from 1 to 2 that shift is pretty rough. kinda notchy not smooth like 2nd to 3rd or 3rd to 4th ? i've heard other teg owners with same problem or is it just a worn syncro ?

I have the same feeling too. Also, I feel rather difficult to shift from 2nd to 1st when the car is in motion, even when the car is just rolling slowly. I hope this is normal.

Quite normal. you'll have to rev-match when downshifting, especially into 1st (blip the throttle...hard).

Most Integras I've seen and driven have a somewhat notchy 2nd. Heck, the new RSX's "suffer" the same "problem."

does anyone notice a bump between 1st and second?? like.. where neutral is. You might need to have an after market shifter to feel this

I know that bump between 1st and second. its like if you go straight down as far left as possible, the shifter will stop but you wont be in gear.

i don't know if you guys experience this, but when i'm in neutral and shift to 1st, at times it only goes half way up. it gets stuck aftergoing to the left and halfway up. so i have to put it back in neutral and shift back to 1st. its probably just mine. just interested if it happens to anyone else...

I have the same problem too. It is very annoying. Sometimes whenever it is green light and I can't shift into 1st, it stuck half way, I have to either shift to 2nd or put it back to neutral and re-shift to 1st. Makes people think that I am stupid or something that the light is green and I am not moving.

Shifting into first is weird in ALL Hondas... 1rst gear and reverse are not synchronized, and to make an easier shift pop the clutch pedal down a little more than half way instead of all the way down and you will find it shifts into first much more easily.
As far as the first to second gear bumpiness, you just have to give alot of gas into 2nd from first than you would think, its touchy, but if you do it right, it is smooth, i get this same problem but much milder from 2nd to 3rd as well.
