obd I conversion, now detonation and cant boost. >>
ok heres the details
obdIIb, with vafc hack, 450cc's
converted to a obd I with skunk2 harness and a p28 ecu.
i did not rewire anything. just pluged the new stuff in. the problem i am having. the car idles a little ruffer. im sure i can fix that . but the big problem is . i cant boost paste 5 psi. it's hard to get into boost. seems sluggish, and weird noise at about 3-4 psi. im assuming it detonation. i jump off the throttle at that point. something is for sure wrong.
the car normaly would idle decent and have a nice air/fuel. little in the rich area on a autometer guage. now when idleing it's completely off. no lights.. maybe way to rich or way to lean. im guessing lean.
any ideas. do i need to rewire the vafc for odb1. i thought the harness woudl take care of this. could i have a faulty ecu or harness. no cel's though and no smoke out the tail pipe. car seems to run ok till i hit boost. then it goes to hell.
thanks

The wires should be the same on both sides of the conversion, but if you need I can help you get to the OBD1 side of the harness and try it. Those harnesses are notorious for having problems, but since you are not throwing any codes its hard to say.

obd II to I in general or. just the skunk2 ones.</TD></TR></TABLE>
Let me know what wires you need to locate on the OBD1 side. Or since the skunk is open, you can just follow them over from the OBD2 side. Or do you need help reading the pins, etc? Hit me up via IM or here.

i did the exact same thing as u and had the same problem. i just richen the fuel up a lil more with the p28 ecu and it was back to normal...
when i converted to obd1 it was running alot leaner... so just richen up the setting and see wat happens.

did you richen from a FPR or on the afc. i was at around -38, how much did you need to adjust to get back to spec.
man, i need a f*cken wideband. tuning blows with this pile of autometer sh*t.

wow it fixed it.
you rule dude.
next question WHY> does the obd1 have different fuel maps then the obd2. if so then why are there not 2 different settings posted in all the fourms talking about teh vafc hack.

If I'm not mistaken, the P28 is a prelude ecu, and preludes came with 310 injectors. So the injector pulse width is probably different (if that makes any sense).

no...the p28 is an ex/si ecu from 92-95 civics

wait though that's a good point.
what size injectors does a 92-95 ex/si i have. they might be differnt then the 00 ex.
