Default How hard is it to fix a jumped tooth on a GSR? And someother questions. PLEASE HELP!!!

I think I may have jumped a tooth on my GSR. I recently swapped it in and have not had good acceleration since I started it. My acceleration in the low RPMs is not that much better than my old dx motor. Also when I get to about the 3-5k range is lags for a second and then continues to accelerate.

I'm still waiting for my new cat to come in, because the old one doesn't fit so I'm running an almost open header. Also, my IAB is not working properly and I'm waiting for a part on that. I have checked the timing, all plugs and wires are new. New rotor, new cap.

Can anybody PLEASE HELP me! I would REALLY appreciate it. TIA

Ok, I just ran out for lunch and I noticed that when the car is cold the bogging is not as pronounced. However, after it warmed up, I could REALLY feel it bogging this time.

I have a JDM computer that came with the swap. I have a funny feeling that this may be giving me some of the problems. I have heard that JDM ECU's are pretty crappy. Is this true? BTW, SORRY for all of the questions.

if you skipped a tooth it would idle like complete crap to. but if ya wanna know how to fix it, ya gotta loosen the tensioner, and adjust the timing belt.

Thank you. It's not running like complete crap. In fact at idle it runs very well, right where it should be. About 750 rpms. I have been searching and it seems like a lot of people with SIMILAR problems are having problems with there ignition system. I don't think this is the case for me because I just replaced, almost everything, when I did the swap.

Adjust the Timing...Set your cams at TDC and your Crank at TDC...Thrown on the Timing belt and tighten up the tensioner...Also..Whats your setup and car?...

Before you start pulling stuff apart, have you check the ignition timing with a timiing light? Sounds like it could be way retarded.

Yes I have checked the timing and everything looks good right where it should be. Yeah, I don't want to just start pulling stuff apart just yet. Like I said the idle is pretty steady and strong, so I don't think that it could be off a whole tooth. Could the belt not be tensioned properly? I followed the manual to the TEE.

That's correct. I'm not getting any CELs.
