My Untuned dyno run...TODA and some other very nice toys installed
I thought that some of you would like to see my current dyno...as you can see below there are quite a few holes that need to be tuned out, but we ran out of time due to the length of time involved installing the header/cat-back, we tuned the car so that it would have an A/F mixture of 12.3-13.0, no changes to the timing curve, distributor timing set at 16 degrees, intake cam gear set at +3 degreed crank, exhaust cam gear set at 0 degrees, restrictive cat installed and the exhaust is 2 1/4"...more tuning to come when I have the time(and money, as I used all my vacation working on the car) to take off work.
The first run was with just the Comptech Icebox installed, the second run was with all of the other items installed...I misplaced
the dyno run prior to installation of the HyTech header and exhaust, but I had lost power without changing the stock exhaust system while having the Toda cams installed, all hp gains are untuned and were only made after installing the HyTech header, cat, and Comptech cat-back, some gains were larger than shown due to the loss of power after installing the TODA cams, but since I can't
find that dyno run I can't show you the gain with just installing the HyTech header.
I would like to hear the boards thoughts and responses on my dyno runs.

Here is my current setup:
TODA B cams
TODA cam gears
TODA valve springs
Portflow Ti retainers
Comptech Icebox intake
HyTech header
Carsound 54006 cat
Comptech cat-back
PowerFC
J&S safeguard
RC 310 injectors

I hit 179 untuned with almost the same setup, then my 94006 cat died and stunk up the place, we gutted it and hit 184 and had to leave because they were closing. I go back this Saturday to tune. Mine is completely untuned, and I have a big power dip between 5K and 6K RPMs, then it just rushed to 9.5K RPM's. I am hoping to get in the 190's this weekend.
Differences in my setup are;
Toda header,
gutted the cat
stock injectors
AEM fpr
AEM CAI
no J&S
VAFC, not installed yet
skunk2 ECU with a 5100 RPM VTEC
My gears are at 0,0.

Digital R,
I had the same dead spot you're talking about. I set my cam gears to +3/+1 and I have gobs of TQ and midrange now. My head is milled, so this helps to advance everything...
You may want to try it...
I have JDM ITR pistons and head milled 20 thousandths. I have a horrendous Neuspeed 4-2-1 header too
. We'll see what I can put down on 8/18 for a baseline.
Take care,
FB

man, that look simliar to mine haha, especially since we have very simliar set up...almost identical...and being untuned i hit 184 whp and 138 lbs of torque @ 8K and everything set @ zero
Nice to see that you were able to get that TODA famous flat spot out between 5-6k looks good now..!!!!!!
Time to get that bad boy tuned and make about 10-15 more hopefully

I had a flat spot between 5K and 6K as well, but moving my cam gears to +3/+1 really helped a lot...
I think you get the flat spot if you run the cams at 0/0?

the intake gear is good for at least 6-9 hp alone plus smooths the plot quite a bit.
Austin-
next time bring that x over down...... 65-6700 looks to be the ticket for your setup.

What is your VTEC xover point??
Austin
Yep Austin, my old engine was real happy at about 6200 for the cross-over. Of course my compression was little higher than yours.
Sorry, I couldn't resist!

I can feel some hesitation at around 4500-6000rpm with the specB too, may be that the flat spot that everyone is referring to, I guess I shouldn't worry about it too much now!!
How do u find the tunability of the Power FC??? Im interested in buying one; but dont know if its worth it as compared to the Hondata
