Default question about a garret t3 with 42 turbine and 48 exhaust

what cars did they come from and whats the boost range in this type of turbo.would this be a good turbo for a d16y8?

Most likely came from a saab, and yes it would be a nice turbo for that engine. I ran that same turbo on my d15 for a while and loved it, it really woke that engine up. If you use the stock internal wg that came with it you should see about 5.5psi give or take a little because those wastegates pretty much suck

how much boost will it support,im shooting for 16 psi race.how quick will i get full boost?

I'm not sure how much boost it will efficiently support but I had no problems runing it up to 10psi on occasion.

i had the same turbo on my jetta i ran 8psi and it ran great, spooled very quick and held till redline, but i have a vw so my car redlines at 7k not 8 or 9k so it might run out of steam for you? after 10psi the turbo is way out of it's efficency range, it's a t3 50 trim

how about a t3 with 63 exhaust and 60 compressor?is this a good turbo for d16y8?goal is 16 psi,how soon will i reach full boost?

.42/.48 will run out of steam at that level of psi (16)......it's great for quick spool up, but will choke up top.
