I have a clicking sound under the valve cover.The macenic told me the lifters need to be cleaned or replaced.Does the head have to be removed for the lifters to be put in??

 

tell your mechanic that hes a crack head and that engines with overhead cams dont use lifters.

 

Tell him you drive a Honda, not a POS american car.

 

Your valves may be out of adjustment.

All you need to do to check/adjust them is a couple tools.

You have to take off the valve cover, remove the spark plugs(so its easier to turn over the engine) and thats about it to access the parts you need to get to.
