Default going back with my stock motor

I'm going with my stock motor which is a d16a6 for my rex. I was planning on rebuilding the engine but I don't know where to start. I'm low on money but give me some ideas on what to do first. I'm planning on going turbo with the motor so tell me what you guys think.

Save your money, go B16. If heard of the stock d16a6 running in the 12s but it takes a LOT of money.

I actually want to stay with the D series. Got to pass smog soon so I'm just going to rebuild the motor before I drop it in than i'm planning to turbo it.
