It bolts to the block. You remove the nipple that your filter screws to now. The pipe is the water source pipe to bring in water to cool the oil, like water to oil intercooler. Yes, uses the car's cooling water to cool the oil. BTW, oil can get over 250 on the freeway at a constant speed w/o a cooler. I know this because my B16 ran w/o an oil cooler for a while and I had a temp gauge on it. Hope that helps.

Isn't there an O-ring that goes between the oilcooler and the block? I dont see it in the pic.

I will have to look tonight. It does have an o-ring that is supposed to go there, but its 1.93 from the dealer if it is not on the unit I have.

A similar unit comes on GSRs as well, but this one is from a TypeR. And yes, its complete. You'd reuse your O-rings from your current water pipe. What parts do you think are missing?

just fyi, i know b16 and GSR's its a simple bolt on afair...

b16 92+ and gsr 96+

not saying that the bolt on is easy, but it beats tapping the block like LS/b20

will work on the B20 if you have the return there in the water jacket. I sent PM to you on how to find it.

How hot does the oil get with the cooler at constant speeds on the freeway. Just trying to see the differences with and with out the cooler. I may be interested in a few weeks when I have some extra cash. Will keep posted to see if its sold.

I know that the oil on my B16 got over 250 on the highway, because I had a oil temp gauge on it. The water temp is max of 210 in your cooling system so this should knock off at least 30-40 degrees, maybe more.
