Why did my O2 sensor price get nearly tripled and why does it keep burning out dangit!
I have a 95 VX hatch and for some reason it burns out it's O2 sensor about every 40k miles. It pisses me off because I had to pay big bucks for this part. I was getting it for about 150 retail, then I found a wholesaler for 105. But now I need another one and
the wholesaler wants 270 and the retail is off the charts. I'm mighty pissed about this. Does this happen to every VX or just mine? It's the 5-wire sensor that I have seen some discussions about on this board but no one has mentioned the ridiculous price.

People found out that it is a wideband o2 sensor and OEM so people started swooping them up. Demand goes up, supply stays the same, price goes up.
