brakes locking up on me
I just recently did a brake swap on my 92 cx here is the set up
99si front and rear brakes stainless lines rs booster (junk yard) and master cylinder (new) 93 si proportioning valve
now the problem I am having
some times the car will drive fine and stop fine and then the brakes lock up on there own
I blead the system 4 times last night after gravity bleeding it for 2 hrs and it worked fine last night but today was the worst ever I locked up so bad I couldn't even drive I had to open the bleeder nipple to release the caliper to get it home
I am tired messing with it
and help would be greatly appreciated thanks

are they only locking up in the front?
are you using the stock metering valve for the front?
hmm....i'm not too sure if a seized caliper would do that, but check it out

Re: (jdmcx)
i think i have the same problems...the booster rod is too long which is pushing the MC therefore your somewhat braking as your drive...and as it gets hotter...the brakes lock up itself..i think you have to adjust the rod to make it "shorter" so it doesn't push the MC by itself..i'm going to try this later tonight see if it helps..good luck

Actually you'll need to trim about a 1/4 inch off of the booster rod itself.
Unless you get the booster and M/C from the same car this locking up **** can happen because the booster rod os to long, therefore it gets hung up when you hit the brakes.
I've had to trim a few people's "rods" at my shop because of this.
I got lucky and got my booster and M/C from the same car, thus no trimming.
I do recall that I've always posted "you might have to trim the boster rod if when you fit the m/c on the booster the m/c doesn't fit 100% fluch without feeling slightly "spring-loaded" " so it has been a problem in the past.
