Default Benefits of pillow ball mounts

Can someone explain the benefits of pillow ball mounts? Thanks.

Pillowball mounts use solid spherical bearings rather than soft rubber bushings. In short, it reduces the dampening effect of the OE bushings and replacing it with a more direct feel of the road.

If you're in a hatchback (i.e. DC2) where you can see the rear damper from the back seat, take a look at the bushings when the car is being driven. You'll see that damper rod move everywhere, because the bushings are compressed. Well a spherical bearing will eliminate those movements...essentially, allowing better response when you navigate your car through turns, etc.

It's useless until you hit the track. And I dont mean drag racing.

Basically, the main benefit of pillow ball mounts is improved handling at the cost of ride quality. Your assbone will hurt when you're going over speedbumps and potholes.
