Default upper pillowball mounts

I am going to running Tanabe Sustec Pro Street coilovers, and I found a set of Apex'i upper pillow ball mounts that I can use for them. I was wondering what the advantages and disadvantages of using these over stock would be. Please help me out, because I am still debating on whether I should buy them or not. My car is mainly driven on the street, and occassional track events.

If you are just on the street....I would stick with the stock mounts. The aftermarket pillowball mounts have metal sphreacle (sp) bearings in them instead of rubber bushings. This means that a lot more bumbs and noise will be transmitted into the car.

For a track car the advantage is more consistant suspension becuase there is less deflection under load, but this isnt as much a big of deal as on macpherson strut type cars where this deflection can change suspension geometry.

I am pretty sure someone makes stiffer urethane bushings that you could put in your stock mounts that would be a lot cheaper then those red apexi pillowball mounts for 100 and a happy medium between the two.

ahhhh no more Saab

Occassional track event=twice a year.

You don`t need them. With a decent coilover, nice set of sways, and a good alignment you`ll be stoked.

tonyxcom - Thanks for the advice on the pillowballs, I think I'll pass on them. I think I'll just look for some bushings.

vtecvoodoo - haha....yup, I asked Mike if he knew anything about pillowball mounts, and he asked you....funny....LoL, but thanks!

GoQkRaCeR - haha...I don't have the EK yet. I am getting the car most likely in the Summer, but I already purchased a lot of parts. Do you have pictures of your ctr?
