What you guys think? My setup includes SKunk2 Stage 1 cams w/full skunk vavletrain, P&P head, mugen head gasket, Comptech header, carsound cat, apexi exhaust, AEM CAI and tuned with a Hondata s200 at DSR in San Jose. The exhaust is really holding it back and a full 2.5" exhaust and JDM header is in the works. Not a bad jump from 157.hp and 115tq. Car feels great and is so damn loud! So far overall impressions are very good!

here's the link since I can't get the picture to work. I hit 172hp and 122tq if it's hard to read.

172 isnt bad considering your current exhaust setup... dont take this the wrong way cuz i am running the EXACT same setup (sk2 stage1 cams, gears, valvetrain etc) but i am somewhat disappointed that i've spent so much $ to fight desperately for 180whp. its the freaking obd2 that kills us. i'm going to the dyno with mine soon so i suppose we'll see what kind of #s i get. curious to see how a freer flowing exhaust will help you.
thanks for sharing your dyno with us.

This might be a newb question...but do you have any tranny work done (clutch, flywheel..)? Would that affect ur dyno numbers?
Right now Im running AEM CAI, Apexi N1 catback, hollowed out cat (ordering 2.5" car sound), MSD setup (installing tmrw)... I plan on buying 2.5" header, intake manifold, cam gears, vavletrain and hopefully if there is cash left over, some internals? Think I could hit 190ish hp tuned on a VAFC?

he's obd1.. using a hondata s200 (p28 with software?)

im still lost in the controversial topic of obdI and II.. I dont know who to believe or which is better..
anyhow didn't skunk2nr dyno higher than 172 with a similar setup (maybe with less mods than racerzook?)

yup. I'm running a p28 (obd1). And the previous dyno session was only with the I/H/C/E. It was midday at DSR (san Jose) and was about 85-90 degrees along with a 30 mile drive to the shop and less than a 1/2 hour for the car to cool. So that might of dropped the nuimbers a bit. It was pulling 170+ consistently though. I'd imagine I'd see 180+ with a 2.5" exhaust.

skunk2nr does have a vid clip of him dynoing his car.....he also does have a very similar set up as you. With all the money you have dumped in your head, i think its time you worked on your exhaust system...thats whats hurtin you the most! I definately dont have a built head on my GSR..only have a ctr intake cam, skunk2 IM, and cam gears, w/ bolt ons and my chipped p28, and i hit 167whp and 129lbs of torque....so should definately see higher numbers once you get your car free flowing!
not bad. Nice gains.
But I would've expected a bit more with the P&P head, skunk2 valvetrain, chipped ecu and Hondata.
But to compare our two setups:
I have a 2000 GS-R with Skunk2 Stage 1 cams, Skunk2 IM, AEM CAI, usdm DC 4-1 header, and Tanabe Hyper Medallion exhaust, tuned with a VAFC.
Now this is running on Stock Ecu, Stock Cat, Stock valvetrain and Stock TB.
I dyno'd mine at 171wHP @ 7900rpm. The graph looked like it was climbing up even after the redline, but the stock ecu wouldn't allow us to rev that high, and even if it did, I wouldn't want to rev any higher than 8000rpm with stock valvetrain anyways. So when I get the p28 in along with the Skunk2 valvesprings and retainers, we'll definately tune and rev it to 9000rpm.
But my next step is gettin the Skunk2 Valvesprings/Retainers in, along with Jason's All Motor program obd1 P28 ecu, free flowing cat, and a better header than the shitty USDM header I'm running on.
I hope this will all be done and Dyno tuned sometime this summer, and we'll see how much of a difference it makes.
But back to your setup... You should definately see nice gains with a better flowing header/exhaust.

don't worry about peak #'s. your torque curve is pretty flat, and your vtec crossover looks good.
i have a similar setup to you, except with itr cams and stock itr exhaust. i made 181 to the wheels, but honestly, who cares about peak numbers. i'd kill for a flat torque curve like yours.
good numbers, and don't worry too much about peak.

You might want to swap out that gsr intake manifold with a skunk2 manifold. It freed up quite a bit up top for me. It was a lot more noticeable than from bolt-on exhaust setup to 2.5" custom exhaust upgrade.
I thought I'd put this out there for comparison too.
