i am only 17 and i have a black crx and i got questions
I turn 16 tomorrow (july 28) and money yis usually an issue with us teens. I would go with the b16a. It is reliable, it has a lot or aftermarket parts, It revs to an 8200 redline(a bonus in my book cause it is so cool) and with the stock engiine on a crx, it should be doing mid 14s. I cant say much about the b17 cause i dont know much about it.
my 2 cents, is get a b18b, put that in and enjoy, if you want more power pop in some civic type-r pistons and a vtec head.

I'd go with a B16 over the B17, for the simple fact that they are easier to find...and are more commonly worked on, so any problems you run into, will be EASILY answered by other B16 owners.
Yikes... have you ever tried to find a B17?? My god, finding a source is insane, not to mention the price. If in terms of sheer power you mean "better" than a B17 has the same HP, but 117 ft.lbs of torque compared to 111 with the B16.... but if you're looking to find one of those oddball engines they're nifty, but they're expensive, and they do everything a B16 does. Get a B16, unless you wanna be unique and you're rich.

OK this thread you ask if the B17 is better than the b16 another post you want to know about B17's and in another post you want to know where to find a B17...If you have 3 threads about the same motor why would you ask which one is better?? Seems to me you have your mind made up about the B17 so now go and buy one with your 20 grand. Oh yeah did I mention the 2 threads you posted about how much money you ahve and that you have money?!
Yeah, these flood of new posts' all seem to have the same author. I even took a screenshot of the forums yesterday, when four of his threads where on after another..one was "I have alot of money what should i get"...the other was "where to buy a b17"...another was "is b17 good" or whatever...funny stuff- although a hassle for the moderators.
i'd rather do the b17 over the b16 if price wasn't an issue.
if price IS an issue for you then go with a b18a or b. i got one hell of a deal on mine. down the road if you find yourself wanting more then throw a vtec head on it or ever better a nice t3/t4 turbo. if ya have any q's then feel free to im me.

B16 over B18a/B18b any day of the week. Never had any stock internals LS motor give me anything close to a good run, and my motor is bone stock cept for CAI. Go with the B16 unless you know of some hidden source of parts for the B17, because that motor is rare. B16 is common these days so parts are all over the place.
