i'm asking becuz i need a new tranny to replace the cx tranny that is coupled to my jdm d15b. i called a local dismantler (www.honda-acura.com) and they're asking $300 plus trade in for a 92-95 ex/si tranny. is this a decent price or is this a little in the high end?
http://www.car-part.com has a listing for $150.00
I get a lot of my parts through this web site.

That's how much I paid last year when I had my EX transmission replaced. They pulled it from a wrecked car with about 40,000 miles for $300.
$300 is a bit too high for anything over 50,000 miles IMHO.
I've seen used ones going in the classifieds for as low as $150, but the condition of those is unknown (i.e. potentially damaged synchros or super high mileage).
