Default Door Lock Problem......... yes I searched!!

After checking the status of my passenger side lock, I've realized that the metal hook in both pics is attached to a plastic piece that is attached to the plastic square locking switch. I guess it broke off or something. The damn door only works when it wants to. I actually had to climb out the passenger side door the first time it happened. I can get out now by pulling the metal hook. Which is good, seeing as this is the only way I can lock and unlock my car. When I try to get in from the outside, I have to turn my key to the right hard while also lifting on the door handle even harder. Just thought it was a weird thing worth posting. I guess I'll be going to South Honda tomorrow to get the plastic piece that connects the metal hook to the plastic locking switch. Hopefully it will solve my door lock problem.

Haha...stupid door locks. On my 00 civic....both door locks jammed...the passenger completely stopped working. I yanked and yanked and yanked on the metal rod inside the door so hard and so many imes that the rod and clips broke off and bent. The driver would open when you pulled on the rod from the inside...but when it wanted to. Net results....big drill bits...drilled the entire locking mechanism out of the passenger side was my only option. DRiver side eventually froze and had to do the same thing. 100 bucks later...2 new sets of door locks and I havent had any problems since.

Yeah...the cash was miniscule compared to the hours I spent drilling those suckas out from the inside of the door without killing my doors and paint.
