Code 72, Coolant Bubbles, Fan Doesn't Turn on, Temp Gauge Way Up There, Sweet Smell from exhaust
Well I was driving my car today, (was cool as soon as a started it) and 5 minutes later the temp gauge was WAYYYY up, all the way up to the top. I stop, pull over and let it cool. I see coolant around certain places but nowhere near the headgasket. Coolant is bubbling VERY VERY badly ,and im getting a misfire (code 72), I don't know whats goin on. Also my radiator fan doesn't go on. Im pissed cause im supposed to be going on vacation tommorow to MN. I don't think Headgasket (even tho the sweet smell) but maybe its leaking coolant into cyl 2 causing the CEL code 72? Also, the coolant is boiling when in the resivoir also.
Any help is appreciated!

none, just fix it right the first time before you warp the head or block

btw: would this cause the thermostat not to work + cause the fan not to run?
thanks,

the fan not working, may have been what made the engine overheat. check to see if the fan relay is working, and also check to see if the fan fuse is not blown. if those two things are in working order, give that fan 12v to see if it's not burned. if the fan works when you apply 12v to it, see if the water temperature switch is workin(may be by the water neck by the thermstat)!
is there a chance my headgasket is fine then? only thing I am puzzled about then is why there was coolant in my engine bay? Maybe its extra that was boiling in the resivoir?
