Hey guys, I tried to change my dist., dist. rotoer, plug wires, and spark plugs.

Well, I can't get the little phillips head screw off to take the dist. rotor off. It is starting to strip out now. I just put liquid wrench on it to see if that will help loosen it. Any other ideas??

It is really corrodid.

 

if you can assess a dremel you can cut a new slit in the screw in a X pattern then use a bigger screw driver to get it out. Thats what i had to do a while ago

 

Yeah thats a common problem.Try making an x and once you get it out replace it with a new screw with a 8mm head on it.You should be able to get one that will fit from a local car stereo shop.

 

just had that problem.

i used a tapping screwdriver. im not sure if thats the correct name. it is designed to take out problem screws like yours.

 

Would Home Depot have that screw driver??

i broke the shield off and got a set of vic grips on it and found a nice new bolt to go in its place...
