Anyone heard of putting oil on a header??

hey was woundering if anyone has ever heard of putting motor oil on a spoon header to give it that golden brown look after you turn the car on??

yeah I know it sounds weird just something I heard thought I would run it through here before I installed the spoon header

use rubber/latex gloves, and when you are done use RUBBING ALCOHOL to clean the header-this way you won't see any unsitely fingerprint marks on the header after you bling it up.
