Does it go back down when you apply throttle and let go?

When did it start happening?

Could be a vacuum leak or the butterfly getting stuck.

throttle cable getting pulled/hung up on something? Vacuum line fell off somewhere? Those things could happen during a trans swap and could cause it..

If you have a dashpot on the throttle body it can cause this as well, if so disconnect it and see if it lowers the idle.

try checking the cruise control vacuum line on the tranny... plug it, and see if it lowers the idle.
