1992-1995 Greddy Civic Turbo Kit fits 96-00 ?????
I have searched forever for a greddy turbo kit that will fit the d16y7/8s and am wondering if the 5g greddy turbo fits the 96-00 engines? Do they fit and if they do, do they need modifications? sorry if it is a noob question, but i am new to forced induction. Thanks guys.
yes it works. i had that greddy kit on my last civic(98)ex. i beleive the only think that requires anything maybe the wires that the blue box hooks to. but it might even be the same as the 92-95. everything else fits fine.
would that matter for texas we dont have the smog test here, just emissions? I see a lot of people with 96+ civic greddy kits, but i have never seen one for sale.
Yes you can run the 92-95 civic kit on a 96-98. Wiring is different on the blue box, check http://www.turbocivic.net for wiring instructions

Wait what? What does only running 6psi have to do with not getting a Drag kit? The Apexi kit is only recomended for the 92-95's as well. Either way as I stated before. Wiring is the only difference because of OBD1 vs OBD2.

well from what i read, the wastegate on the greddy only makes about 6psi with an internal wastegate, but the other kits have external wastegates (i.e. tial/turbonetics) that can be adjusted. does that sound right or am i a complete moron?
ok the Greddy kit will work on the 96-00 cuz Im running it. The only mods you do is the blue box wiring and extending the o2 sensor wire and the IAT Sensor wire. Everything is bolt on.
The wastegate is set from Greddy at 5.5 psi (where you get the 6 psi from) and it is an internal wastegate. When you add an intercooler, due to pressure drop, you lose about 1 psi. Since its internal you can't really adjust it... but you can. You COULD mess with the actuator arm but you don't know how much you'll be running until you get on the road. I don't recommend that way. I use the Greddy Profec B Spec II and I run 8 psi daily. Any boost controller will work.
The Greddy turbo for the Civics (TD04-15G) maxs out around 12 psi so I wouldn't recommend go over that pressure with that turbo. Then again, I wouldn't run 12 psi on the stock d16 block.
