Toda crap out on me.............? :o
So installation of the cam gears begin.... I get everything off and now its time for the cam gears. I get the Todas on and realize that the 10mm bolts I have are a atad too long and are going to rub. I bought the extra bolts because I read where a lot of people have stripped the original ones. So I take off the Todas and realize that one is damaged/broke where the cam key goes... Take a look... sorry for the terrible quality of the digi cam, its the best I can do for a $100 unit...
What do I do now.........?

call the person you bought it from (hopefully an authorized dealer) or call toda and tell them what happened
stuff breaks
and things could be worse

You are looking at the wrong thing. It failed where the cam key goes. It will require replacement or if you trust JB weld

How the heck can it break at the cam key slot?
Were there two keys in there? Did you beat it on the cam? Pry it up when you took it off?
That is just too bizarre.
Yea, bolts break/strip etc.

Toda cam gears are bad about "grabbing" the key, causing it to ride "up" and "out" the rear of the keyway in the camshaft. We have a "collection" of Toda cam gears that have the same "look" as the one pictured. When installing them, you have to press the rear of the key down with a srewdriver to make sure it doesn't scoot out the backside....
Toda needs to increase the dimensions of the keyway just a touch to allow for the thicknesss of the anodizing.

After seeing the pictures, I say don't use it. It was worse than I expected. I would call Toda or the place you got them from and see if they would replace (which I doubt they would) or see if you could just buy one. Couldn't hurt. I know they are sold as a set but maybe in the particular situation they would sell a single one.
But I say don't use it, it's not worth the risk of damaging your head for a set of $300 cam gears. The cost of replacing the head later would be a lot more than replacing the cam gears now.
-PS. Host that **** on BS.

I agree with Woofer on this one...
It looks like the cam gear was tightened down (to the cam) while the key was not set perfectly.
Ferrel, I feel for ya man. Those are nice cam gears and that sucks that it had to happen to you. I wish you the best.
