Default d16z6 swap on a 92 VX, what all would need to be done?

What would be needed to swap a D16z6 motor and tranny in to a 92 VX hatch?
So far my guess is that it would at least need a different ECU, and some wiring for vtec.

I know some of you out there have done this swap so please reply.

All you really need is the engine, z6 or y8 tranny, p28 ecu, and a pair of axles (not sure if cx, vx axles are the same as Si & Ex axles). Since your car is already wired for VTEC, its just plug n play.

So no need for new engine mounts, just use the stock wiring harness, p28 ECU and possibly axles?

Anyone else have input on this swap?

you will need

d16z sohc engine
driverside upper mount
ecu
preferably the engine harness from the d16z....

you do NOT NEED a new tranny....althought the sohc vtec tranny will be better 1-2 gears....

everything else from your car will work
axels, shift linkage, mounts (cept for drivers upper but that can be fixxed by putting the vx mount bracket from engine onto si/ex engine.....)

You will have to rewire the o2 sensor.

yur won't have as much fun with yur swap without the z6 tranny. becuz u will spend most of the time in first and second gears just trying to reach vtec it won't even be worth it.

Sorry to beat this topic like a dead horse...

So Engine & tranny, p28 ECU, and upper drivers side engine mount?

So 2 more questions:
1) Where can I get one of these mounts?
2) What about the exhaust? The VX has like a 1.25-1.5 inch exhaust which I imagine would not let this motor show its full potential.

Any other info from someone that has done this swap(d16) before is appreciated. I want to be prepared as best possible.

Would dx axles work on a d16z6?

yes all d-series axles are the same.

This is the easiest swap you could do in a vx or any eg civic.
Heres what you should do:

d16z6 engine/tranny
92-95 ex/si harness (You have probably never done wiring before so its just easier this way)
5 wire o2 sensor (ex/si)
check your cv boots and engine mounts
change all your belts very soon
get new spark plugs (normal ngk)/ wires
do an oil change (engine/tranny)
p28 ecu (ex/si) sorry forgot that one.

oh yeah all the mounts are the same on d-series eg civics.
This is what I did to my vx and i was really happy with it compare to my old vx engine/tranny

hey put the p28 ecu in your car right now it will be fun trust me. It hits vtec really hard but it beat the $h*t out of the vx engine.
