Default black smoke @ full throttle b/c of timing advance?

hi advanced my timing a bit because they car was feeling bogged down and it fixed that, then yesterday while redlining it in a few gears i saw it shooting out black smoke.........it could have been doing this before but i didnt notice it, thus it may have but not that bad at all, would advancing my timing do that? does this mean im running rich? My ECU is for a B21A1 engine and now i have a JDM B20A, so the fuel map may not be 100% correct, would an apexi S-AFC fix that? also doesnt advancing the timing make the mixture leaner as opposed to rich? im very confused. Also i doubt it oil because i burn only about 1/2 Q between oil changes
