well, my car warms up fine and when it is warm the temp gage is at exactly 12 o'clock position. My fans work, but when I touch my hood after driving in 80 deg weather for about an hour it will seriously burn me if I hold my hand on it for more then a 1 sec. (I could probally cook an egg on my hood). So my question is: is this normal?

It might be running a little warm.

Flush the coolant and buy the premix 50/50 antifreeze, so you get the mixture just right. Then see if it still runs a little warm. Should be just a hair to the right (11 o' clock) of the middle.

 

I should not have to flush the raidiator because I put it in new about 4k miles ago, (forgot to mention that)
does that water wetter work well.
