Engine hoist and engine stand question....
im just trying to see how the hell you guys mount your engine stands and engine hoists to your engine, the engine stand just has little ***** coming off of it and god only knows where they go and then i cant really see any good places to clip any of the clips on the engine leveler either if anyone could help me out that would be awesome, Thanks, Matt
Use your transmission bolts to bolt the mounting bracket for the stand to the transmission. As for the hoist, use the bolts for the powersteering bracket or A/C for one part of the chain and find some other bolts on the back as well to mount the chain. This probably doesn't make sense, but if I can find some pics, I'll post em up.
the best way to lift the engine (with a transmission)
there is a threaded hole in the back of the head twords the drivers side, it needs a 14mm bolt, i have one from the intermediate shaft i use. there is a bracket on the top of the transmission twords the front, thread the chain through it and use a large bolt and nut to secure the chain to itself so its safe
without a transmision i just put a transmission bolt in the middle front hold (near the block code) and secure the chain to it that way.

I avoid using the tranny bolts to secure the block to the engine stand. The weight tends to bend the bolts.
I'll take other pics if necessary when I'm at the garage next time b/c these kinda suck.
