I thought, but not sure, that the D16Y7 non-vtec redlined at 6500rpm.

 

on the ex, i think its 6950rpm, but my 97 ex would hit like 7100-7300 on the tach, but that probably wasn't as accurate.

 

yea, the tach is way off... i was watching my data logging (realtime) and the tach was a good 300-400 rpm off

 

when i had a Y8 in my hatch id take it to 7600rpm (on tach) i think the motor fuel cuts around 7500.

 

Back when I had my Apex VAFC I couldnt get it to hit a 7xxx number without it hitting the fuel cut so there is no way it cuts fuel at 7500. With the P28 it cut a couple hundred later and was able to hit over 7000.
