Help me with my audio system...
I get my liscense back in a couple weeks after 1 1/2 years of suspension
As of right now I have pretty much no system, save for some alpine 6.5's that will go in the rear deck. Here is what i was thinking..
Head Unit: Alpine CDA-9811
Components: Focal 165K2
Anyone have any better reccomendations? I dont really know much about components, nor have i selected an amp to power them. This is the one part of the system i do not want to skimp on.
Sub: 1 12" Alumapro alchemy or IDMAX 12
Mono amp: JBL BP600.1 or 1200.1
any suggestions appreciated, thx =]

Nice components. The jbl's won't be useful if you port the sub. There is no subsonic filter. I would vote on the IDMAX sealed, and 1200.1 if you want the jbl's.
As far as amp, maybe an arc 4150.

i got the focal polyk's in the store for u to lsiten to before u buy. as for the rest of the system, i wouldnt know about the subs because i havent heard both to compare and about the amp, i dont know either.

I thought it was suppose to direct more power to the audible hearing range of 20hz or higher?

It does not increase power. It is just a high pass crossover. Nothing more.

Sorry that was not clear. I was trying to say that the usefull power of the amplifier is not waisted on the inaudable hearing range of the music. This should allow for the audible range of sound to be louder due to the power not being waisted in the inaudible part.
The downfall of this is that the lower harmonics shape the audible range of hearing and you can still feel 10hz so I dunno. I would not use a subsonic filter in my setup.

I would look at Eclipse head units if you want an awesome sounding headunit. Compare more than just features. Eclipse will walk all over Alpine when it comes to sound quality and the technical side of things.

What do you mean compare more than features? There is no sq difference between an eclipse and comparable alpine(price range). If you think you can hear this then we need to send you for testing. I consider eclipse and alpine equal.

I'll agree
Oh and I would recomend the 9813, I think. It's the one with the V-drive, and the pre-outs are 4 volts all around instead of 4 volt sub and 2 volt front and rears.

why not just go all out with the 9815
hehe. its freakin nice n it saves everything including the x-over n time correction settings. really nice feature when you take your time to do all the measurements n calculations. juss my opinion.

ok,, i know i might get yelled at,, but what about jl audio. i mean,, its good, not exactly cheap but u cant really beat the sound quality. especially with an alpine head. (my setup somewhat hehe) i mean,, for subs,, a pair of 10" JL W0 and a 250/1 simple and loud. but thats my opinion.
I purchased a 500/1 with a 10w6v2 and when everything came in the amp wasnt there so the gave me a "loaner amp" a jl 250/1
its been almost 2 weeks and its still not in im getting frustrated...
