From helms: "remove the center lower panel (where cig lighter is), remove the radio, disconnect the air mix control cable from the heater unit. Remove the tapping screws (3) and pull out the heater control panel. Disconnect the connectors and remove the heater control panel."
FYI, the 3 screws are easy to find. 2 on the bottom front, and one on rear right
