Default Home tuners: A/F meter questions...

Ok guys,

I need to make a trip to the dyno soon...

But I have seen many do their own tuning on the streets and fine tune at the dyno...

Some use a/f meter, and/ or volt-meter...

I have an autometer a/f meter, but it doesn't seem to be very accurate (crap is how many describe it).

Any suggestions on a/f meters I should take a look at? The more accurate, the better...

Greddy is good?

I am running a Jumptronix Digital gauge. I have it wired into my O2 sensor wire going into the ECU. IT will give you a .XX reading when running.
Only thing is that I have yet to do any dyno tuning with it in, so I do not know the accuracy of it yet.

I'll see if I can find the pictures.
James

Can't seem to post from Ofoto. So if someone would care to host it for me, I can send them the picture.

Kenny,
The best a/f meter i have seen is the Greddy split second one, whic comes with its own o2 sensor.
I will probably sell my autometer one for Greddy in the near future.
Hey ...did ya ever get a header, cat and exhaust? if so what... email me or something.

Yea that Greddy one is like 400 bucks.. its good but expensive. I have the Halmeter AF30 which reads off your o2 sensor wire and the display is in bars. Its supposedly one of the most accurate, it costs like 135 bucks. I have it mounted between my tach and my speedo. What I do is stop on the gas and read the meter at various rpms and tune it with my vafc. I do full throttle runs then check the plugs. The plugs will tell ya if your lean or rich or in the sweet spot, caramel brown. Its good to shut your car off right after your full throttle run this way you can accurately read the plugs.

Try to go to a dyno with a lambda meter then dial it in perfect.

Yes Greddy is good. Halmeter is also decent. Blitz and Motec both have widebands but those are $1000+.

$400 for Greddy?!

I thought it was ~$250...

Have you compared the accuracy of the halmeter with the one at the local dyno place? Is it adjustable so you can calibrate it? This sounds like a cost effective alternative (if it is as accurate as the greddy).
