i was in the local shop the other day and one of the mechanics was telling me that it is a common thing to for a v-afc to fry a cars ecu, is that true? I was planning on getting one, but now i'm not so sure.

I hope not, I have had mine in my car for a couple years with no incident. I agree that it would be from installation error. I have never heard anyone say this on any board.

Well I would suggest things before an AFC, there are better things out there.

The thing is, saying they fry ecus would be, to me, an admittance that they have the wiring competence of a 9 year old blind midget. Of course there may be that fluke or two, but to say they fry ecu's generally...thats just incorrect.

 

My VAFC has blown my ECU fuse a few times but that was installation error on my part!! I cant wait to get rid of this thing and buy a Hondata!!
