Default ... too much back pressure in turbo applications...

... what problems would i run into with a system that hat too much back pressure?... ie, stock exhaust... i have been told that "it forces the exhaust back to the turbo becuase its not a free flow and u will blow that turbo up real fast"... any truth to this statement?... i know when cheezefrog ran off of the stock setup, the excessive back pressure caused him to only run 4-6psi of boost... but is it really possible to destroy a turbo with too much back pressure?... thanks...

Actually it's only 1 or 2 psi. lol I never really rev'd it beyond 5krpm though. Didn't feel like it was making any morepower over 4K so I just shifted at 4K all the time. You really don't need any more for just driving around running errands and stuff.

... (straight from the cheezefrog)... thanks for the info... what about you turbo?... did this setup cause any problems or damage your turbo?... that is my primary concern... i think that the drop in boost pressure is kinda cool, extra boost controller... thanks again for the info...

I'm interested too. Will be running a stock exhaust.
