215 45 17s or 205 45 17s,many prefer the 215s since they give you a little extra ride height and more cushion. 205 40 17s are for civic/teg and please take your caps lock button off.
Hey I have a '91 Accord EX, I was wondering what do I need to know in order to get the right rim size for my car? I know they are four lug but that's about all I know, I want to get rims and eventually get it lowered to the point where there's no gap.

well that tire size is small, so your speedo will read faster and it'll rack up more miles on your odometer. it may also look weird too if your not lowered alot and the load rating on that tire size is unsafe for accords.
are you sure they fit, are they universal 8 lug pattern. i assume they came off a civic or teg.

ok, so your buying new then? they can get you the proper sized tire, just call them.it will cost probably a little more though. make sure the lug spacing is 4x114.3 and not 4x100.
Along with all the other guys thats telling about the correct tire size. 205/40 is too small for the accord's weight. I have 205/45 and they are sweet. CLICK on the link in my signature for pics of my tires
And wheelmax puts anytires you want on them, so you can get 205/45s or 215/40s --both pretty good, i have both sets- 205s on my new rims, 215s on my old rims.

as pointed out earlier, that would be preferable.

Yeah preferable, but the tires are thicker--that is if you care about looks too.
