Default WHAT FLUID SHOULD GO IN MY ITR TRANNY

Been told different thing's by like four people ? I was told you wanna use a reg. syntheic motor oil the same weight as your motor is running ? Other's said you want oem honda gear box oil ? My buddy told me if your driving high performance engine its harder on a transmission you want a light but resiliant fluid that won't break down like the stuff for stock OEM application's ? I'm putting in redline 10-30w with prolong tranny treatment do guy's know if this will be o.k. ? THANX 4 THE HELP !

i wouldnt use synthetic oil cause its too slippery for the synchros, i personally use honda mtf, heard good things about gm's synchromech, or just regular 10w30

Honda is gonna tell you to use their mtf, I think maybe in 92-95 and also before that they might call for 10w30. I thought I could use mobil 1 gear oil cause most of the trannys, and transfer cases I've had in various vehicles call for 75w90 or 80w90, so I called mobil 1 and they said all the could recommend was honda mtf. I have a 97 with manual and all I use is mtf.

HONDA MTF! THAT IS ALL!

The redline will cause synchros to wear out prematurely.

HONDA MTF!

My friends ITR had a 3rd gear syncro grind at 8,000 rpm shifts....he was running Honda MTF. He switched to GM's syncromesh and the grinds are now gone. Take from that what you will.

Honda MTF, and if you're worried about it breaking down, change it more regularly, like yearly or sooner. I'm running a Quaife LSD and race the tranny, it still shifts good after 80000 miles.
