Well, what the hell is it in? Doesn't seem like it would be exactly what I would jump for joy over and call "FAST".. My **** laid down as much HP as a B18C5 and I have it mated to a CTR tranny as well in a 2,000lb hatch. Its quick, yeah... But certainly not what I would call fast. Plenty of **** can smoke me.

Those are fun to drive. Anything with a 4.7 FD tranny in it is fun to drive around in.... just not when cruising on the freeway for long distances

The S80 CTR tranny uses a 4.40:1 final drive ratio stock.

Even though the tranny this guy has is a 4.400FD one, I wanted to also point out that the 4.78FD-equipped trannies have the exact same cruising rpm in 5th gear because they have a taller 5th (as well as 4th, but that doesn't change 5th gear cruising
) than the 4.400 FD ones do.
The 4.400 trannies have a .848 5th gear
The 4.78 tranies have the .787 5th gear just like the USDM GS-R does
When you muliply both of those 5ths and FDs the number is the same.

Interesting, because the 2 cars that I've driven both feel (and showed on the tach) higher in 5th gear on the freeway, and that was with OE CTR transmissions with 4.7 FDs. We have an ITR at the shop with 4.4 FD and it drives a little different on the freeway. Even if it is the same, sure doesn't feel (or even look) like it.

it's the first time i drove it after the swap, it seems fast as **** compared to the D16. no it's not FAST compared to a lot of things but i'm not allowed to say my car is fast as long as there is someone somewhere that can beat me? in that case no one can say their car is fast...
i don't plan on smoking any of my friends DSMs or Scoobys any time soon but it is relatively fast.
it's in a '96 coupe.

I would imagine it is considerably quicker then the D series. Have fun with it.
