Start with the MPFI swap first, then as you get more knowledge move up to the mini me. It'll cost more but you'll learn more.

Why will you have more work with the B2 block than the B1? I agree with Mr.S, start with the MPFI conversion first, it will get most of the wiring work out of the way.

yea, i think i should start with that...
another thought, the b1 block is more slower than the b2 block..
is it still worth putting the mpfi conversion on the b1 and then the z6 head or try and find a b2 block then go with the mpfi conversion then the z6 head???

EDIT: b1 block rated at 72 HP, while the b2 block is rated at 92 HP

b1 and b2 bottom ends are pretty much the same... the hp diferences are made in the ECU / I.M.

B1 and B2 blocks are basically the same thing
u will get the same power output by putting the Z 6 head.....

do MPFI conversion and then do mini me

the blocks are both the same. but think about doing the MPFI swap first then put the VTEC head. also does anyone know if D15/D16 head bolts the same?

The bolts are different lengths... I've seen in previous posts where people have had problems with too long / short of bolts when doing a mini-me. Can't remember which ones you need to use, I would guess the Z6 bolts, but someone please confirm this.
