i think u should just keep your z6 block and build that. what year dx block are u talking about? the 92-95's are 1.5's and the 96 up are 1.6's. if u do a search u will find quite a bit of info on building up the d-series.

Re: BLOCK HEAD COMBO???? (sohc_boy)
I am talking about a 96-up block. what i really wnat it for is so that i can get a lower mileage block so i dont have to do rings on my block.

are you going turbo or NA?
for turbo...do a d16z6 block for the stronger rods...
for NA...do a d15b7 block with d15z1 (VX) rods and p29 pistons so you can get the high compression
i'm pretty sure LS rods will fit in D-series blocks...just not sure which ones

d15 from 92-95 have weak rods but when using this block you can reach higher compression. good for when starting of with a dx cx or vx and doing a mini me (good for around 200)
i not sure if z6 fits on a d16y7/y8 (could be wrong)
but for sure a d16y8 SOHC vtec fits on a z6 block
b18a rods fit on to only d16 blocks d16a6, d16z6, d16y7/y8 etc. but with brushing and changing the wrist pin size
if you already have a z6 block might as well get new rings unless you can find a cheap newer better condition d16 block for good price.
the newest block to use would be probably d16y7
