Help with ZC missing very badly under any load
I posted this in the 4g forum with no response. I'd really like to get this sorted out ASAP as there is one of about three import events in Ohio tomorrow and I'd like to go win some money...
The car misses hard under load at any rpm. If I stomp on it at 5000 rpm, it's like it hit the rev limiter... it even sounds the same. If I stomp on it at a low rpm, same thing. Any time there is a load on the motor it stumbles, misses, and sounds like its on the rev limiter. If I accelerate from a low speed in a high gear, it sounds like the rev limiter until it gets out of load and then it accelerates fine.
This is a 1991 ZC with a greddy kit running 7-8psi.
I tried opening the waste gate so there is no boost, and it still does it.
I replaced the ignitor.
I replaced the coil.
The timing hasn't changed and it has run fine for the last year or so, so I don't think that's it.
It did throw a code 1 once, but I think that was from it missing so badly. It hasn't thrown that since.
Any thoughts? Does this sound like a possible TPS, O2, or CAS problem? I can find a distributor and O2 today, but I'll never be able to dig up a throttle body unless someone in central ohio wants to help me out.
Thanks!

Couple things to check... check your plugs and make sure your ignition is all perfect and not grounding out anywhere on the chassis. If your plugs are fowled, then that should help if you change them. If it's still sputtering under a load, check to make sure your car isn't grounding out to the chassis. On my Integra, my IC piping was hitting my Magnacore plug wire and eventually wore the rubber coating away and was grounding against the piping, thus making the car miss under a load and idle like ****. Those are just a couple of things to also check into.
I figured it out. Apparently something in the dist was bad... cam sensor I would guess. I replaced the dist and all went well.... Unfortunately I took it to the races and exploded the differential. This wasn't my week.
Thanks for the help though!!
