Took the H22 VX to the track yesterday! Check it....
Last night was a blast. I raced at Rocky Mountain Raceway in SLC, UT. I had met up with my friend Sage (owner of HondaSaver), threw on 20x8x14 M/T slicks.
Keep in mind, RMR is at 4600 elavation feet! This high altitude in the friggin sky is OWNING ME!
Pretty damn fun night, but I know the car has more potential!
The set up:
92 Civic VX hatch weighing at 2060 with a full tank of gas and the EX steelies.
93 JDM H22A
AEM ITR CAI
Stock header (ran open header)
Walbro 255 lph fuel pump
B&M FPR set at 42 PSI
Ignition timing advanced 2°
Spoon chipped P13 ECU
The first run:
M/T baby slicks were set at 13 PSI. I launched at 4400 the first time:
R/T - .787
60' - 2.206
330 - 5.980
1/8 - 9.135
MPH - 77.89
1/4 - 14.193
MPH - 97.19
I didn't consider this a bad run considering this is the first time launching on slicks with the hatch and didn't know how the axles would handle them at 4400 RPM's. So I decided to raise the launch a little the next run.
The 2nd run:
My R/T blowed! I was trying to lock the axles while holding the E-Brake so I don't red light, but turned out to be my best time. I launched at 6500 RPM this time. Also, we checked tire pressure, and slicks were good. However, friends decided to lower the pressure to 9.5 lbs (big mistake).
R/T - .838
60' - 2.115
330 - 5.884
1/8 - 9.044
MPH - 77.72
1/4 - 14.115
MPH - 96.83
Although this was my best time, while going down the track, my steering wheel was shaking big time from being the lower 9.5 PSI in the M/T slicks. When they are supposed to be set at 10-15 PSI.
The 3rd run:
Good R/T this time. I just think this wasn't a good run. I launched a little too high and the 9.5 PSI killed me.
R/T - .537
60' - 2.228
330 - 5.989
1/8 - 9.167
MPH - 77.71
1/4 - 14.264
MPH - 96.41
The 4th run:
I'm hating the 9.5 PSI in the slicks. I decide to launch at 7500 RPM's (redline drop with axles locked in with e-brake held up). This time, I friggin missed 4th! GRR
R/T - .834
60' - 2.152
330 - 5.862
1/8 - 9.033
MPH - 75.38
1/4 - 14.320 -- edit - not 41.3 lol......14.3
MPH - 94.23
Welp, that's it. There will be more Midnight drags this coming weekend. I sure hope to race there again this weekend with the M/T slicks and being at 13 ish PSI, and redline drop the thing, now that I know the slicks and how my axles would respond to them. (from being paranoid). I know for a fact it's 13's at 4600 elavation feet, being extremely low 13's if not 12.9's at sea level.
If you guys have any advice, PSI for the slick recommendations, that kinda thing -- be much appreciated!
later.

Re: Took the H22 VX to the track yesterday! Check it.... (cccya)
thanks a lot guys! yes! I need it tuned and dynoed!
Axles held up VERY well. I was extremely paranoid of snapping an axle, but there was no problems whatsoever.
Even shifting extremely quick, no tranny problems or even grinding. Cable shifters own
I very much hope I can get into the 13's still on stock platform for this elavation.
All you guys need to get some damn good times and support the H22!

Oh ya!
When I dumped it at 7500 RPM. My car absolutely jumps hard and pulls mad off the line.
I have videos too! I'm just waiting for my friend to get the videos on the computer.
I can get some nawsssss and hook it up just to have some fun up in there. I'll have to do that

To advance the spark timing to get a little more power when running higher octane (91,92, etc.)

lol. yep both are DSS. passenger axle is level 1 due to leaking on the stage one (too short)
and the driver is the stage 1 no problems.
I'm waiting for my friend to get the videos up and going. He said he'd do it tonight

That's exactly what I was thinking. What PSI should I set them at? I was thinking 13 or 14 ish. But being they were at 9.5 PSI which is almost nothing.
As I was going down the track the steering wheel was wiggling much more when it went from 13 PSI to the 9.5.
Think I should go 15 PSI on 'em?

Awesome that you got to run the car Brandon, but something is up with your 60ft times. You should be pulling like a 1.8 or so if your launching at 7500. I would recommend 15psi and i would do a massive burnout to get those things nice and hot. The hotter the better. Oh and hook that header back up cause your just losing power unless you have some big cams or high compression. Good luck on running again and keep up posted.

Here you go guys. I taped Brandon runnin with my newly owned Canon ghey camcorder that took forever to get uploaded!
First run (raced a turbo GSR that runs 12's, but pulled at 14.12)
http://tweak.kicks-***.net/Movies/First%20Run.wmv
Second run (best time):
http://tweak.kicks-***.net/Movies/Second%20Run.wmv
Third run -- I made the mistake of confusing Brandon as some ricer hatch. Brandon was warming up his slicks in the background. He races a turbo D16Z6 EX coupe that you can only see off the line

Sorry for the crappy coverage and being all over the place.
Y'all can just click and dl its running off my comp sorry for the other links die'n
