Sylvania Silverstar Bulbs
Hello All! My girlfriend has a 2002 Accord Coupe, and we bought the silverstars for it last night. I took out the stock bulb and then tried to put the silverstar bulb in, but it wouldn't fit in right. So, I couldn't turn it clockwise to lock it in. We got the 9006 bulbs, so they are the right ones I believe. Has anyone put silverstars in? Do I need to modify the bulb in any way, or am I maybe doing something wrong? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
I made the same mod on my '02 coupe a few months back. 9005 for highs, 9006's for lows.
Check which direction you are turning the bulbs while installing. if you're facing the car, then clockwise on the bulb will feel like counter-clockwise to you.
Just turn the bulb by the harness until you feel it click into place. Make sure you don't touch the glass of the bulb as the natural oils in your skin will shorten the life of the bulb.
The new bulbs make a world of difference in the visibility at night. (though, its not as nice as true Xeons)

Did you have any trouble getting them to fit in there? I just pulled out the stock bulb and tried to fit the silverstar bulb in and it didn't fit quite as good as the stock one. Did you have any issues at all? Does the silverstar give a whiter light look?

Dude if you are having trouble putting in the bulbs then you are putting them in wrong and you need to look at what you are doing better because i have silverstars and they went in just fine as long as you have the right bulbs for the low and high.

I got the 9006 S/T for the low beams. I took out the stock bulb, and tried to put the silverstar in the exact same way and it didn't work. Am I supposed to do something different to put the aftermarket bulb in? Or is as simple as taking the stock out and putting the silverstar right back in? The reason I ask is because, I didn't have any problem putting the stock back in after I took it out. So I think I am doing it the right way. For the silverstars, is there a right and left side bulb? Maybe that could be it. Let me know if this could be the problem. Thanks for your help!

Thanks for all of the replys guys! I wasn't thinking and pulled out the high beams and tried to put the low beam bulbs in the high beam socket.
I figured that out and got it done. Was very easy, felt dumb. They look really good though, a nice crisp white compared to stock. My girlfriend was really happy with them!

Haha, we're all entitled to a mistake every now and then. Just think a little bit more before starting your work. And compare your stock part to the new part. Sometimes the box would be for the right car but the product inside may be wrong. And did yours give a slight greenish white lighting? At least that's what my friend's Accord looks like.

I just bought a set of silverstar from advance auto parts( $31-$6 mail-in rebate= $25). but I wasn't as satisfied as others...actually i was happy with it, but my gf wasn't...more yellowish than i expected...
but it was bright as hell. that's the part I really liked.
if you want bright light, get silverstar
if you want white light, don't get silverstar...it's not that white...
