Default Similarities in the EP3 and RSX-S bottom end?

I've got an EP3...

I want to eventually put an RSX-S head on my car… Are the bottom ends the same or do they differ? If they do what is different about them?

Thanks-

S has a better balance crank, stronger rods, and higher compression pistons. all dimentions are the same so with forged internals or type-s internals you should see no problems, honda cranks are quite strong either way.

I've been looking on an off into this same thing buetang, but so far, when you condsider that you can sell the Si engine, you could possibly do the full RSX-S engine and tranny swap for the same price. One person even sold his Si engine for more than he paid for his RSX-S engine, thus making a profit.

Hasport is going to eventually come up with a system that allows Si engines to transplant into older hatches and new civic coupes, so there will be a market for the Si engine.

The only downside is that its not as easy to do as the head swap should be (though the head swap will possibly require an ECU swap as well to work the exhaust vtec properly, and there are surely other hidden costs involved too).

True, I was thinking the same thing (for the swap) I figure once this 36k warranty is close to being up...it'll be type-r time for the little EP. I just wanted to see how much was gonna have to go into making the type-s head swap worth while.

Ballpark, how much can you get for a 03 Si motor?
