Default 89 Civic sedan woes

Replaced the fuel pump, that works now. The car sat around for about a year while it was being worked on, so I put 4 gallons of new gas in it. It wants to start just a little more now. Getting a new battery after I go to court tomorrow. So the only problem I'm having besides it not starting, is the main relay won't shut the hell up, it sounds like a little machine gun. The car will start but die right away. Any suggestions?

Replace or fix the main relay.

here are 2 places that sell them... RZ-0063 is the number found on these

http://catalog.honda-auto-part...d.y=0
go here and click on your car, SEARCH for RELAY. under PART, click on "RELAY..." and you're looking at it.

http://www.hondaautomotivepart...-HORN
it's number 22 in this link.

and here's a link with some info about it...

Replaced the fuel pump as I said before, now that works. Replaced the battery because it wouldn't hold a charge, main relay still clicked constantly. But it won't even click after I try to start it with the new battery. Replaced the main relay with a new one and it still does the same thing.

I'm about to junk this car and take the grand I have into it as a loss. Any help would be very much appreciated.

sounds like the reason your main relay was clicking in the first place was due to your battery. dead batteries and bad grounds can cause the relay to do that.

what does the car do now? any codes? checked all of your fuses?

you turn the key to start and the CEL comes on for 2 seconds and the relay DOES click on to prime the fuel system right?

Replaced the battery but the relay still sounds like a machine gun. CEL stays on. Can hear fuel pump whir.
