CR-V transmission and AWD
HI,
The B16 seems able to take about 350bhp through its transmission without too much problems, can the same be said for the manual box on the CR-V ?
What about the 4wd system on the CR-V ? Does anyone know what the limits are on that?
I know there was a lad in Canada that put a B18 turbo in a crx and converted it to 4WD, that's got to have a fair bit of power...

well look at the rear axles of a crv. you can see them from standing behind the car. They are about the size of my finger. So lets do a little math shall we.
CRV horsepower at crank = 160 hp
Manual drivetrain losses 25% down to 120hp at the wheels
sense the crv is a 90/10 diff the power going to the rear axles is 12 hp
I dunno but 12 hp looks like a lot going through an axle the size of my pinky finger. Look at Go carts some of them are 9 horse and have beefier axles.
