Default whats the real scoop on B16 pistons in LS block......

Okay i've heard that putting B16 pistons in an LS block is an amazing upgrade and will make massive compression.

I've also heard from more than one source that B16 pistons will not fit onto LS rods, and will hit the head as well. Has anyone actually done this swap? i dont want to hear what you "heard from your friend" or "read somewhere" i want to know if anyone has actually done this..

i have the b16 pistons in my LS. The compression is def up there but something is f'd up on my car so i can't tell you how much power i have. I know it's hard as a b*tch to turn over by hand w/ the plugs in it. i also have total seal piston rings which may help that but i don't know. They do fit the LS rods by the way.

Not exactly what your asking, but i have LS pistons in my B16a. Had to modify the valve releifs for clearance, but the pistons do interchange.

B16 pistons are obviously larger than the flat LS pistons.. look at the numbers.. bore size are all the same.. GSR, ITR, LS.. B20.. i think they're all the same.. its all about DOME size.. if you want mad compression, go CTR.. a new set, with OEM rings is like 3 bills. maaaad power.

rods.. wouldn't know.. not my dept. i always went Crower, and Eagle.

Wrong...the B20 have 84mm of bore.

Actually it doesn't have to do all with dome size. It has to do with stroke, and cc's in the head. I wouldn't go with ctr pistons because the valve reliefs aren't deep enough and you might have valve to piston complications. I'd run the jdm p30 pistons. That would give you a 11.0:1 compression and safer valve clearances. And if you go with aftermarket rods, good luck pressing those oem pistons on them. It just won't work. Shotpeen the LS rods and get arp rod bolts.
