I was backing out of my driveway last night and I got distracted and stalled the car. After that it wouldn't start again. I'm now getting cel 16 which is the fuel system. Fuel pump primes and the engine turns over. You guys have any ideas? where do I start. thanks

I would check out the injectors see if you see any visable damage to them. Check all your connections too.

 

i had that code 16 when i bought my eg for $2500 thats why i got it for that much.....So when i got home the chiltons said injectors, The problem with mine was #3and#4 the positive wire was cut and thats why it was running off of 2 cycl.....Easy fix for a eg in good condition for $2500....So make for u check all the wiring to the Fuel injectors.......

 

woke up this morning and the car started w/ no code. I'm really confused...

 

I am having a similar problem, except it will start and stall right out (did it 5 times in a row at the gas station last night)but, it will start fine the first time, especially if it is cold outside.

Holla back if you find out, the problem. Everyone tells me it might be the main fuel relay or the ignitor.

lol, ya cars can be wierd that way. i had 3 cels on for like the past 4 months, every time i reset the battery they'd come back within a day or two. now for some reason it fixed itself or something, because it's been a week and no cel. yay. i'm a happy man.

 

it prolly got mad cus you weren't paying attention and stalled

but i would def. check your injector wires to see if they're ok...wiggle them around and reset the ecu even though the CEL doesnt come on anymore..

most likely - electronic. check ur connections.

 

could be electrical...but add some fuel injection cleaner to be safe...it may be clogged

Check out the above site (just the first part, don't try to fix the relay, it won't be worth your time). I had the exact same problems with my car. It would not start when it was hot, play with the key for a little while or let it sit and it would start. Sometimes after a short run (like getting gas) the car won't start after it has been turned off. Started and died on me after a few seconds like, 5 times in a row. Got a new relay today and I haven't had a problem starting the car now.
